Axle Repair

The axle repair bearing assembly replaces both the bearing and the conventional seal requiring no additional parts. The repair bearing moves the bearing and seal position to ride on an unworn section of the axle shaft.

Axle Housing Repairs

We bore and sleeve the steering axle on the truck within hours. Our sleeves are precision-machined from seamless aircraft steel tubing for strength. Thinner than typical machine shop sleeves, Axle Surgeons sleeves require less boring of the axle eye, keeping more of the original axle intact.

The patented Axle Surgeons sleeving system is designed for accuracy of boring angle, centering, and size. The process restores your original inclination angle, a factor in reducing tire wear. Kingpin and Knuckle Repairs

Loose kingpins can cause steering difficulties and excess tire wear that can increase your operating cost. Too often, the traditional rebuilt kingpin lasts only half as long. When a technician rebuilds your kingpin, he should also examine the knuckle eyes for wear. Simply replacing the kingpin set overlooks worn knuckle eyes that give the kingpin just enough play to erode the holes faster than normal. A trained Axle Surgeon specialist can in-line bore and sleeve knuckle holes for a precise fit and give your kingpin set an entire life.

In addition to treating kingpins and knuckles, we replace damaged drive and trailer spindles as well as spider plates on vehicles ¾ ton and up. Mack Truck Spindle Repairs

We line bore and sleeve ALL Mack tapered kingpin holes within hours. We replace Mack trunnion shaft without removing the truck body or differential. There is no need to buy new steering spindles because we can in-line bore those at a fraction of the price while also saving you time.

Mobile Line Boring

Line boring is essentially enlarging a hole that has already been cast, making the centerlines of two or more bores collinear. Collinear bores appear in several large machine parts such as engine blocks, gearboxes, presses, and turbines. Precision is essential in these machines, so line boring is commonly used to repair worn bores and their neighbors.

If bores in machining parts are not collinear, it can introduce misalignment, vibration, and even malfunction in a system. Frequently a machine will simply not work if even a small amount of misalignment is introduced. This is what makes this type of repair so common.
